The itauba wood is seriously dense, so I don't have to baby it through rain or hose it down after muddy shoes. Two of us sat on it for a whole afternoon and it didn't creak once.

I was worried itauba would feel rough, but the wood is smooth and ridiculously dense. Left it out through two rainstorms and it hasn't warped or grayed at all.

The bench arrived solid and heavy, exactly what you want from itauba wood. I’ve left it out in the rain for a few weeks now and it still looks brand new, so that rot resistance lives up to the promise.
