I was a bit nervous about the weight, but switching to the lighter ripstop really does make a difference when carrying it to the site. The tear-resistant material on the rainfly gives me peace of mind, though I wish the mat description was a bit clearer.

Shedding over two pounds off the packed weight was immediately noticeable on my shoulders the first time I hoisted it. The ripstop fabric feels tough despite being so light, and the whole setup handled a windy ridge night without a fuss.

We took this on a week-long backpacking trip and the 2.2 pound weight savings was immediately noticeable in my pack. The ripstop fabric held up great against some rough brush without a single tear. Very happy with how much lighter it is to carry.
